About INTO the OUT
Welcome to INTO the OUT! My mission is to empower children through outdoor learning and play, fostering a sustainable future for all. My Story Nature has always been my sanctuary, a place where I feel recharged and at peace. My teaching journey began with a Bachelor of Education in Rotterdam, specializing in Early Childhood, with further studies in the Czech Republic and Spain. I've had the privilege of working in Danish and International kindergartens and schools. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I noticed a significant positive change in my Early Years class during our outdoor learning days. The slower pace, fresh air, and simple joys of sunshine and shadow play were transformative. These experiences led to opportunities to host workshops for the IEYC on remote learning, COVID-19 adaptations in schools, and Reflecting & Recording in the Early Years. My passion for outdoor learning through play remained strong. Working in a forest kindergarten north of Copenhagen, I experienced the confidence that comes when children lead their own learning outdoors. This inspired me to create educational materials, write a nature journal book, develop an outdoor play curriculum unit for the IEYC, and start my own small outdoor daycare. After moving to Jutland, I became the Head of Kindergarten at an international school. Despite my professional achievements, I was hit with a burn-out and I immersed myself fully in nature and my shoulders went down significantly. INTO the OUT Taking time to reconnect with nature lead to the creation of INTO the OUT. My goal is to inspire and guide educators worldwide towards sustainable education and Nature Pedagogy. I aim to support educational settings that struggle to commit to nature pedagogy due to curriculum demands, helping them integrate nature and outdoor learning through play. I aspire to inspire families, children, and anyone eager to embrace nature, whether they wish to get INTO the OUT or bring the OUT...IN!
