InVekTek is a technology company focused on mitigating unwanted motion in all material handling applications. The simple fact is that electric motors stimulate the natural frequency of the loads they drive, and with it unwanted motion. Depending on the application, unwanted motion comes in three flavors: vibration, oscillation, or sway. And regardless of flavor, unwanted motion undermines productivity, compromises accuracy, erodes repeatability, shortens the mean time between failure, is wasted energy and can be a serious safety concern. All in, unwanted motion is a substantial but hidden expense. Unwanted Motion is hardly a new phenomenon. It has long been recognized that the acceleration and deceleration of loads in material handling is governed by Isaac Newton’s First law - a body in motion tends to stay in motion and a body at rest tends to stay at rest. And InVekTek certainly hasn’t repealed Newton First Law. But we have developed proprietary control algorithms to prevent unwanted motion BEFORE THE FACT. Without sensors. Without encoders. Completely open loop. InVekTek’s initial target market is industrial cranes. Everyone knows sway in cranes is a serious problem. Preventing that sway offers a substantial and immediate financial return by improving productivity, preventing collisions, expediting new operator training, and extending the MTBF of the crane. InVekTek has launched SwayMaster, a configured/sensor less controller that intercepts the operator’s inputs and corrects them to prevent sway while preserving the intended move. And unlike sensor-based systems, SwayMaster automatically compensates for the dynamics of varying heights, payloads, rigging and even the differing skills of individual operators.
