Invictus, a short poem by William E. Henley (1849-1903), became a favorite of mine since high school largely because of the last two lines of the poem (I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.). While the theme of the poem is considered “dark” by some, its inherent message about self mastery and overcoming life’s challenges became my internal mantra for life. Even more compelling is the Latin translation of invictus as “unconquerable”. Invictus is our unofficial corporate motto and indicates our approach to all we do. We accept the responsibility and accountability expected by our clients and we truly believe we can overcome any challenges that accompany a project…. we will deliver!
