Our company designs custom software. Our current product, the Compliance Assistant, is used as a data collection tool for field inspections. It integrates our software with a built-in GPS, camera and data card in a tablet computer. The application of the Compliance Assistant as a data collection tool for field inspections has intensified with new and far more reaching data control/management issues driven by the current economic downturn as well as new regulatory environments. The regulatory environment is new from the perspective of moving from guidance documents to more prescription requirements of data tracking, use, and reporting. Regulatory burdens are high for accounting, human resources and now field environmental compliance issues. Corporate directors face the same civil and criminal consequences if activities occur within their facilities that do not meet requirements. This heightened accountability is driving an easy access tool such as the Compliance Assistant that enables clients to monitor activities.
