About Iowa School for the Deaf
Iowa School for the Deaf was established in 1855. It is a language immersion program offering both day and boarding options. The school is financed primarily by state funding and charges no tuition, room, board or transportation fees to families. We offer individualized education programs for pre-school, K-12 and 12+ students who are deaf or hard of hearing. MISSION (OUR FUNDAMENTAL PURPOSE) Iowa School for the Deaf prepares deaf or hard-of-hearing students from preschool through age 21 for life as literate citizens who contribute to society.
