About Iowa Veterans Home
The Iowa Veterans Home is a long term care facility owned and operated by the State of Iowa. Opened in 1887, the facility sits on 150 acres in Marshalltown's northwest corner. We provide medical and nursing services to Iowa Veterans, their spouses, and gold star parents. We are one of the largest Veterans Home in the nation with 560 beds comprised of residential and nursing (including memory) levels of care. We have many onsite conveniences for our residents including an in-house library, leisure and recreation rooms, planned recreation trips and facility-wide events, and a variety of healthcare related services. Our staff consists of over 1000 full-time and part-time members, we also have a roster of dedicated volunteers. Please consider visiting our facility and volunteering or working with us.
