About Irish Life Dublin Marathon & Race Series
We started the Dublin Marathon in 1980 with 2,100 runners taking part. We are now the fifth-largest marathon in Europe, with over 20,000 entries annually. We are a not-for-profit organisation that aims to provide an exceptional racing experience. We support runners on their journey, inspiring and motivating them to achieve their goals. We are known as the ‘Friendly Marathon’ because of the incredible volunteers and supporters who line the marathon course route on race day. The marathon also raises an estimated €9 million annually for charity partners and €26.5 million for the city of Dublin. The Dublin Race Series, consisting of three events (Fingal 10km, Frank Duffy 10 Mile, and Dublin Half-Marathon), was introduced in 2002 to help train runners for the Dublin Marathon. In its first year, 3,000 participants signed up for the Series. Today, the events attract around 20,000 participants. Irish Life is the title sponsor of the Dublin Marathon & Race Series. #IrishLifeDublinMarathon
