About Islington & Shoreditch Housing Association
Islington and Shoreditch Housing Group (ISHA) is a community and neighbourhood based Housing organisation managing and developing quality affordable housing for people in North and East London, and building more homes in Hackney, Islington and Waltham Forest. ISHA consists of Islington and Shoreditch Housing Association, with it's subsidiary Lien Viet Housing Association. ISHA is smaller and more local than many other housing associations operating in London. Our roots go back to 1933. We have grown rapidly in recent years and now have over 2,200 homes. We want ISHA to stand out of the crowd as a special housing association, and we are making radical changes to meet our 2020 improvement ambitions in 4 key areas: • First class service delivery; • Customer service; • Communications; • Meeting future housing needs. At the same time, maintaining our financial viability is the first priority which underpins our four core objectives. The foundations of these are through our robust business planning and risk and control framework that monitors the achievement of our ambitions: • To be a great landlord; • To value our customers and meet their housing needs; • To provide good quality and affordable homes; • Speaking up for Housing We work in close co-operation with our local authorities, our regulator the Homes and Communities Agency, and other local Housing Associations, including Black and Minority Ethnic, special needs Housing Associations and co-operatives. Investment in development is provided by the Greater London Authority. ISHA leads the North River Alliance (NRA), which is a consortium of north and east London community based housing associations.
