About ISPS Africa - International Ship and Port Facility Security Training
ISPS Africa is the continuation of the International Ship Consultants (ISC) Group that was established by John Taylor in 2002. After John's untimely passing in 2015, the business was continued with by Cobus Hanekom and Vishal Dhanesar under the name ISPS Africa. Both Cobus and Vishal served in the South African Navy for a number of years after which they respectively continued working in the private security industry and the commercial maritime fleet. Between the two of them, they have extensive experience in performing maritime security duties and providing ship and port facility security training. With the high demand on security training by local and international shipping companies and ports, ISPS Africa has enjoyed consistent success in providing ISPS training and is well respected within the maritime and security industries. The majority of training on offer is mandatory, emanating from the requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), which is a United Nations organization that controls worldwide maritime legislation.
