About Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Oslo
The Italian Cultural Institute in Oslo is the Cultural Office of the Italian Embassy in Norway. Our aim is to give an insight into Italian culture through the organization of a wide range of artistic and cultural events, such as meetings with authors, concerts, exhibitions, film screenings, festivals, lectures, courses and seminars, The Institute offers also a wide choice of Italian language courses from beginners to advanced level with mothertongue teachers. Together with that we organise also thematic courses of Italian culture throughout the year, such as Italian art and archeology. The Institute held also a significant library open to everyone who wants to borrow Italian books and films, whose catalogue is constantly updated. Conclusively, the Institute collaborates with several public and private norwegian cultural institutions and organisations, like Aschehoug, Gyldendal Norsk Forlag, Bazar Forlag, Nasjonalmuseet for Kunst, Arkitektur og Design, Vigeland-museet, Stenersenmuseet, Astrup Fearnley Museet, Norsk Form, Norsk Filminstitutt, as well as with Norwegian universities. We also collaborates with some important Norwegian festivals such as Bergen Festival, Musica Nord - Grieg in Bergen, Oslo World Music Festival, the Ultimate Festival for Contemporary Music, The International Film Festival in Haugesund. We also promote a close collaboration with the other European Cultural Centres in Oslo and the Dante Society in Norway.
