Who are we? We are a dedicated group of licensed clinicians who specialize in utilizing various psychotherapeutic practices, along with creative arts therapies, to facilitate profound healing experiences for individuals seeking to improve their quality of life. Each of our clinicians specializes in psychotherapy, and a creative arts modality; expanding the healing journey beyond traditional talk therapy and into a realm where one comes into contact with the empowered self. What are creative arts therapies? The creative arts therapies are made up of five “expressive” modalities: Art, Drama, Dance-Movement, Music, and Poetry. Our practitioners- who are Licensed Creative Arts Psychotherapists (LCATs)- utilize these therapies within a psychodynamic process to amplify the mind-body connection that is integrative in facilitating change and developing new skills. Why creativity? Whether you identify as a “creative” or not, or believe that psychotherapy involving the arts may be more suitable for folx with “talent” or “creative skills;” we’d like to remind you that humans are innately creative beings. Our survival depended on our curiosity and creativity, and our resulting evolution was influenced by it. In this modern age, we make creative choices every waking minute. Our utiliziation of the arts in treatment is not about aesthetic pleasure, but about reconnecting with the same holistic tools our ancestors used to evolve, express, connect, survive, and heal.
