It Takes One Inc. is a Baltimore based nonprofit organization that seeks to provide scholarships and educational resources to Baltimore City Public High School Seniors. It Takes One was founded in 2015 by four former high school peers who attended Paul Laurence Dunbar High School (Baltimore, MD) and was afforded to have he opportunity to attend the 4 year institution of their choice. It takes One aims to connect the next generation of students from Baltimore city to college and professional networks by exposing students to opportunities that they currently do not have access to. At It Takes One Inc. we work every day to create a platform that allows our community to fellowship, re-invest, and create the change we want to see. In our inaugural effort, we were able to award two selected Baltimore City Public High School seniors with scholarships; for use toward tuition, books and/or educational supplies at the college of his or her choice. The scholarship is funded by not only the residents of Baltimore city but by a collective of individuals in different parts of the country who believe that together as one we can affect change and build a better future for the next generation. There are over 620,000 people living in Baltimore City; if everyone just gave "ONE" dollar we could send 620 high school seniors to school with $1,000 scholarships. It only takes ONE person, ONE day, One dollar, One moment of your time, ONE action, or ONE dream to make a difference. and together as ONE community we can change the world!
