HISTORY: J Grennan & Sons is a family owned Agri-trading business. We have been involved in farming for many generations and in Agri Trading since 1878. Our trading business has developed from very small, solely retail beginnings, into one of the leading importers, manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers of farm inputs in Ireland. AREAS OF ACTIVITY: Our core business is the manufacturing and distribution, at both wholesale and retail level of Animal Feeds, Farm Fertilisers and Agricultural Seeds. The retailing and wholesaling of Agrochemicals, Farm Hardware and Farm Plastics are also integral parts of our business. All the following activities take place at our base in Rath, five miles north of Birr in the Midlands of Ireland Coarse Ruminant Rations – formulated, manufactured, packaged and distributed nationwide. Cubed Animal Feeds – manufactured, packaged and distributed from our new “state of the art” feed pelleting plant. Fertiliser – importation, storage, formulation, blending, packaging and distribution. Grain – purchased direct from local growers, cleaned, dried and stored. Seeds – assembled, dried, cleaned, screened, dressed, packaged and distributed. Farm Plastics – wholesale and retail distribution. Silage covers, wrap, netting from all the leading manufacturers Agro chemicals – wholesale and retail distribution with a major emphasis on providing the most up to date and detailed technical support. Mineral Buckets – wholesale and retail distribution, e.g. Nugget 4 Way Copper Bucket and a range of other buckets Milk Foods – wholesale and retail distribution, e.g. Nugget Wonderthrive Calf Milk Replacer.
