About Jackson Security Services

Jackson Electric was founded in 1949 by Tennis and Alma Jackson, and has been a trusted provider of electric and security services in West Alabama for over 65 years. Residential and commercial security services were first introduced as a part of the electric company in 1953. In 1972, Chuck Turner became a partner of Tennis Jackson Electric Company and added alarm system design and installation. In l978 the firm’s security services were separated from the electric side of the house, and in 1982 became Jackson Security Services. That same year JSS purchased Business Security Services in Tuscaloosa. In 1988, Chuck Turner purchased both the electric and security services and merged the companies. In 1992 Brad Turner was appointed Vice President of Jackson Security Services, and in 2000 Jim Essary was hired as Vice President and General Manager. In 2014 Jackson Electric Services merged with a similar company in the Tuscaloosa area. Today Jackson Security Services continues in its dedication to West Alabama residential and commercial customers. Jim Essary continues to lead the company as General Manager and Vice President. Today JSS offers a full range of security options for home or business. Skilled, experienced technicians install the most reliable security systems.
