Founded in 2010 by sound designer Joseph Fraioli, Jafbox Sound crafts immersive sonic worlds that elevate drama and spark the imagination through innovative, custom sound design rooted in storytelling. Trusted by leading directors, studios, brands, artists, and institutions, Jafbox Sound’s work spans feature films and television, including TENET (Dir. Christopher Nolan), Fallout (Dir. Jonathan Nolan), Secret Level (Dir. Dave Wilson), Tales From The Loop (Dir. Mark Romanek), Code 8: Part II (Dir. Jeff Chan), Kin (Dirs. Jonathan and Josh Baker), and Abstract: The Art of Design, as well as commercials for the world’s most inspiring brands such as Apple, Budweiser, Delta Airlines, Google, IBM, Nike, PlayStation, and Xbox. Jafbox Sound’s sonic installations include permanent and experiential works for AIR at Summit One Vanderbilt, Kanye West’s Cruel Summer, Lady Gaga, Chanel No. 5, Sonos, Royal Caribbean, and institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art, the Walker Art Center, and the Smithsonian. Fraioli, also recognized for his innovative electronic music under the alias Datach’i and as one half of Big Noble—his ambient collaboration with Interpol guitarist Daniel Kessler—brings a deep musicality to his sound design. His knowledge of rhythm, melody, and texture enhances his approach to projects with a deeply musical and composition-driven spirit, at once blurring the lines between music and sound design to create rich, immersive auditory landscapes.
