The Chamber aims to further strengthen business relationships between the Japanese and American communities in New York, and to close cultural gaps that may hinder economic collaboration. To this end, the Chamber actively encourages its members to develop friendships with leaders in their local community and government officials by hosting luncheons, symposiums and webinars. Functioning as a not-for-profit organization, The Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of New York, Inc. continues to mediate between our two nations and works to achieve the goal of the Chamber's founding fathers: a bilateral relationship based on friendship and cooperation. 当商工会議所の当初の任務は、主に日米間の貿易を促進することでした。しかし、世界経済のグローバル化が進む中、私たちの使命は、ニューヨークにおける 日米間のビジネス交流を支援し、完全な経済協力を図る上で妨げとなっている文化的なギャップを解消することにまで拡大しました。そしてまた、経済界のリ ーダーは社会的責任を果たし、地域コミュニティに貢献することが必要不可欠となります。当商工会議所は、昼食会やシンポジウム、その他数多くの活動の開 催によって、会員の皆様が地域コミュニティのリーダーや政府関係者と親しみ、交流を深めることを積極的に奨励しています。ニューヨーク日本商工会議所は、 非営利団体として活動しており、今後も日米両国の仲介役として、友好と協力に基づいた二国間の関係構築という創立者が掲げた目標の達成に努めてまいり ます。
