About Jax Peer Group

Jax Peer Group LLC was founded in 2020 in the spirit of creating a community for women in Electric Power and Energy, to come together in a safe, secure, and belonging environment. Women in STEM are often underrepresented in the workplace and increasingly more so as you move up the career ladder and into the board room. Often, one of few women or the only woman, it can be intimidating, challenging and lonely. Sometimes it is too much. Sometimes we leave our respective companies, or worse yet, we leave STEM all together. We need to stop the leaky pipeline! The founder, Jackie (a.k.a., Jax), knows firsthand the challenges women in STEM endure. She "grew up" as a female electrical engineer in the electric power industry; a conservative and male-dominated industry. She understands the importance of finding your tribe and is laser focused on helping women find their way into STEM and to stay once they get there. Jax Peer Group is about coming together as peers in an equal and inclusive “come as you are” group. Here we will flourish, grow, learn, laugh, practice empathy and gratitude, and be our authentic selves (yes, here you can be your authentic self)! Jax Peer Group is inclusive. All women are welcome.
