The Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center, made possible through a lead gift from 1957 Auburn graduates John and Rosemary Brown, enhances the university’s academic endeavors and raises its standing as a culturally minded institution. The influence of this modern performing arts center is found in its promise of high-quality artistic opportunities, ranging from nationally touring Broadway productions and dance, orchestra and symphony performances, popular music, jazz, and more. Housing functional spaces with superior acoustics and fully integrated technology, the Gogue Center includes the indoor 1,204-seat Walter Stanley and Virginia Katharyne Evans Woltosz Theatre, the 4,000-capacity Bill and Carol Ham Amphitheatre, and 3,500-square-foot studio theatre that can accommodate up to 250 patrons. Auburn’s ability to facilitate learning through the exploration and performance of the arts is a critical component of its outreach to the community. The Gogue Center serves university, community and regional initiatives to create inclusive artistic programming that provides meaningful experiences to the community.
