About JCI East and West Melbourne
JCI East and West Melbourne, formerly JCI Eastern (Melbourne) (JCIE), is part of the Junior Chamber International movement, a not-for-profit organisation providing development opportunities that empower young people to become engaged, active citizens and to make a positive contribution to their community. We work with the local council and community groups on grassroots community projects in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Some of our regular projects include MentorMe, matching mentors with JCIE members seeking opportunities for professional development and Art2Heart, providing a safe environment for primary school kids to experience the arts in various forms with the guidance of established artists. JCIE was founded in 1956 as JCI Whitehorse Maroondah and is still based at Jaycee Hall in Nunawading.
