JCS BMX is based at the Merton Saints BMX Track. We support young people in the wider community and are dedicated to guiding them away from antisocial behaviour by using sport. BMX enables young people to build new friendships, spend time doing a positive activity, whilst learning from more experienced riders, the discipline necessary for the sport should it be a direction they want to take. It is also a lot of fun. In turn this has a strong impact on helping to prevent negative behaviour. By using JCS BMX as a tool, we can teach young people to ride, but also encouraging them to have positive attitudes and outlook on the future by building strong skillsets that can carry them forward in later life. We provide a safe space to run activities that build confidence, inspire and instil practical life skills and safe choices, which means we can positively impact the lives of young people. We have access to qualified, enthusiastic riding coaches who can also provide information on welfare issues and offer emotional support. We also want to extend the use of the facilities to encourage local communities and surrounding boroughs to come together.
