JDM DESIGNS MARKETING CONSULTANT When I'm not climbing a peak somewhere, I'm usually sat at a screen managing people’s social media, building marketing strategies and helping people build their brands. I started my career in the property and construction industry, with over 20 years of experience as a Buyer, concluding my tenure as Regional Buyer and Group Commodity Manager at Miller Homes, a prominent UK housebuilder. When the construction industry declined in 2008, I chose voluntary redundancy and considered a career change. While on a beach in Ibiza, I noticed that my beach towel frequently blew away, which led me to consider that there could be a product developed to address this issue. The Beach Towel Clip launched in 2010 and, with support from UKTI and NWDA, achieved global sales, several awards, and media coverage including the BBC and SKY TV. I was later recognised by the Federation of Small Businesses as a ‘real-life entrepreneur’, and helped launch their small business manifesto in Brussels with the FSB team. My experience in product design, launch, and market introduction led companies to seek my help with their new products and inventions. I have successfully launched multiple products, supported inventors, and established effective digital marketing strategies that expanded brands and customer bases within budget. For six and a half years, up until February 2021, I was engaged full-time in launching and developing a leading crowdfunding financial P2P platform. During this period, the platform successfully raised over £120 million through crowdfunding initiatives. Since the closure of the crowdfunding company in February 2021, I have worked with a range of SMEs across various industries. While I appreciate working with a variety of clients, I'm interested in larger projects within organisations, either full-time, freelance, or consultancy, leveraging my diverse industry experience. I'm always open to discussing new opportunities.
