About Jefferson E-911
Jefferson County 9-1-1 Emergency Communications provides emergency and administrative support for thousands of residents, visitors, and first responders. Through the use of state-of-the-art technology and a highly trained staff, we work to exceed the expectations of our community in their critical time of need. We are the primary answering point for all communities within Jefferson County Tennessee. We employ dedicated Emergency Communications Specialist who answer over 100,000 calls for service each year from residents and visitors in Jefferson County. They also dispatch responders for all public safety response disciplines – law enforcement, fire, and EMS agencies within Jefferson County. The Jefferson County 9-1-1 Emergency Communications District is funded by telephone user fees, which is governed by the Tennessee Emergency Communications Board (TECB). Local contributions from Jefferson County Government also make up a revenue source for the district’s operations. Along with dispatch services, the District provides and maintains all hardware and software for the county-wide, state-of-the-art Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, which includes GIS Mapping and Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) technology. In addition, it maintains the CAD Geographical Information System (GIS). The Jefferson County Communications Center processes over 134,000 phone calls and over 62,000 CAD or computer-aided dispatch entries per year. There is over 665,000 radio transmission monitored over a number of different radio frequencies. Over 88,000 NCIC transactions are processed annually.
