Jennifer Alfert, LMHC, ICGC-II, works with many clients suffering with process addictions. Jen focuses on personality disorders & assesses for Axis 1 diagnoses as well. Healthy re-integration into society, fostering effective communication and vocational skills is critical. Jen will engage family members as necessary, as education for all is key. Jen and her client together will formulate measurable goals and plans. Additionally, Jennifer works with larger populations by consulting with accredited treatment facilities providing staff trainings on overcoming resistance, engaging the family, empowerment. Jen can also provide an in depth understanding to diagnose process addictions such as gambling disorder, compulsive stealing, spending or shopping. Jennifer can explain the differences in collecting and hoarding, what the need for money may signify, why social media, smartphones and internet gaming have become a pervasive force in our society Jennifer will work on-site at facilities as an adjunct therapist due to the nature of her skill set.
