About Jersey City Global Charter School

Jersey City Global Charter School is a free (public) school serving more than 240 students in K-Grade 3 from the diverse community of Jersey City. Our students and their families hail from more than 28 countries throughout the world. We are the only school in New Jersey offering the award winning MicroSociety curriculum in addition to providing art, music and language instruction (Spanish) to all students. Classes are small (18-22 students per class) and teachers work with students to identify and close gaps in learning and skills using a personalized learning plan. Each classroom is equipped with a SmartBoard and each student has access to a Chromebook. The mission of JCGCS is to ensure that all of our students achieve academic excellence, are ready for the rigors of higher education and master essential skills that prepare them for the economic, social and civic challenges of a 21st century global society. We provide a safe, exceptional academic environment that cultivates independent learning, character enrichment and global awareness while developing accountable leaders, responsible community stewards and motivated and diverse thinkers.
