Acupuncture and Chinese Medical Clinic. Acupuncture uses a variety of instruments to gently tune the living energy of our bodies to create harmony and health. Living energy surrounds us daily, from the force of gravity to the positive and negative charges of our cells. Lines of energy or “Qi” run throughout our body and are known as acupuncture channels. Along these channels lie hundreds of points where the Qi gathers. Each point has a name and a function. When activated with pressure, heat, or fine needles, these points give our body specific messages. Acupuncturists use these points to affect the biochemistry of the body. They affect Qi, blood, body fluids, tissues, and even the internal organs, bones, and DNA to return the body to health from all disorders. Megan Spaeth, L.Ac., holds a clinical Master of Science degree in acupuncture from the Swedish Institute of Health Sciences in New York City. Megan had the honor of training with an esteemed 88th generation Daoist priest, Jeffrey Yuen, and specializes in Classical Chinese Medicine, which uses 72 channels as opposed to the 14 channels used by most acupuncturists today who study Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) . Megan sees the body as a single unit and uses gentle acupuncture and chinese medical techniques in an effort to bring harmony and health to each individual patient.
