About Jessie May

We provide at home, a range of support services to children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families. We also support our families when their children are in hospital. We have a team of specialist nurses and trained support staff who work with the Jessie May “Team Around the Family”; an events co-ordinator, a family liaison officer and a bereavement co-ordinator. Together they offer holistic support. Our nurses know the children they care for well, and with that comprehensive understanding, coupled with their medical knowledge, they’re able to provide the advocacy that’s often missing in an often-stressful hospital setting. How do Jessie May families benefit? Parents of Jessie May children can take time out of their caring responsibilities, knowing that they’re leaving their child in the best possible hands. Sometimes they just need to rest! Siblings can have some rare one-to-one time with their parents. For these children, being picked up from school by their mum or dad is a rare treat. Jessie May children have a special relationship with our care team. They take trips to the park, get creative with a painting session, or enjoy a story telling session, all with the wrap-around medical care our nurses provide. Jessie May also provides a calendar of events that bring families together for fun, support and often much needed company with those that know how hard life can be with children with complex needs.
