About JETAANY (JET Alumni Association of New York)

The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme Alumni Association of New York (JETAANY) is a public, nonprofit membership organization in the New York metropolitan area. Based in New York City, we serve alumni of the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program, which presents an opportunity to live and work in Japan with nearly 70,000 alumni internationally. JETAANY was recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2007 and we draw upon our diverse membership in the tri-state area to support and foster a community for the 2,000+ alumni in our chapter, promote the JET Program, and host programs and events promoting U.S.-Japan relations, Japanese culture, and cultural understanding. We also work with the Consulate General of Japan in New York, the Japan Local Government Center (CLAIR New York), and various Japanese-American organizations on cross cultural initiatives and in hosting approximately 40 events per year.
