About Jewish Community Mental Health Initiative
JCMHI, under the umbrella of the American Psychological Foundation, offers free weekly virtual support groups for members of the Jewish community. Recognizing the challenges the Jewish community faces, we provide a safe space to help connect the Jewish community and navigate the complex emotions and challenging experiences of the current climate. With a community of approximately 90 volunteer mental health professionals and clinical graduate students, we currently run 25 free weekly and public groups. We are supported by the UJA Federation of New York and other foundations. In an effort to assure that all those who need support have access to it, we are continually reaching out to various communities to determine their needs and expanding our group offerings accordingly.
