About JFOC Architects
JFOC specialise in housing, from design research, economic and regulatory research through to delivery. Since its founding in 1987 we have delivered 10,000 homes and a further 2,000 dwellings currently on site or in the design and planning process. We have been winners in the two most recent Irish housing competitions. In 2023 we were advisors to Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage concerning the development of modern methods of construction within Irish housing production. JFOC is owned and managed by Dominic Stevens & Claire McManus. The practice is involved in ongoing research projects as well as guiding the profession. Claire is the RIAI Housing Spokesperson, a Director of Tuath Housing, chair of the RIAI Housing Committee, member of the DHCLG / RIAI Joint Housing Committee and a member of the Housing Agency's Supply & Affordability Panel. Dominic lectures in architecture at TU Dublin; and is a member of ARENA, the European architectural research network and in this capacity is active in organizing conferences and the publication of research. JFOC have participated in numerous exhibitions including the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2018 and more recently in the Irish Architecture Foundations ‘Housing Unlocked’ Exhibition in 2022.
