About JITRI - Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute
Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute (JITRI) is a top application-oriented research organization and a high-tech investor in China, which was founded in 2013 by Jiangsu Province to promote industrial technology research and the commercialization of advanced scientific results. Since its establishment, it has created state-of-the-art institutional mechanisms facilitating technology transfer and discovered new channels for transforming scientific and technological achievements into tangible products. In 2021, JITRI became the operating entity of the National Innovation Center par Excellence (NICE). JITRI has established 90+ specialized research institutes in the fields of advanced materials, energy & environmental science, information technology, intelligent manufacturing, as well as biology & medicine, with around 15,000 R&D personnel in total. JITRI and its partner enterprises have co-established 290+ Joint Innovation Centers, tasked with gathering industrial R&D needs, identifying technical gaps and funding research projects to bridge these gaps. JITRI has thus far incubated 1050+ high-technology enterprises and has transformed more than 4,500 technologies into commercial innovations. JITRI is a partner of 80+ top universities and research institutes globally, including Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge, UC Berkley, UCLA, University of Munich, University of Sidney, etc., and it is currently co-chairing the World Association of Industrial and Technological Organizations (WAITRO, under the UN system) with Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft.
