We hold the belief that the best form of English tutoring, whether that be face-to-face or online, should be about so much more than ‘plugging in’ and following a pre-prepared scheme of online work and tests – these forms of learning have their place but do not replace the powerful and influential teacher/student relationship. Testing without prior teaching, scaffolding and discussion is also ineffective. Instead, at Jocella Academics we believe tutoring should be bespoke, carefully planned and managed, interactive, supportive and enjoyable, and it should be unhindered by geographical boundaries. At Jocella Academics every taught session is planned and delivered by an experienced, knowledgeable and passionate English teacher who is both familiar with the interests and needs of the individual student, as well as the specific requirements of UK schools and examination boards. All tutors are highly qualified, chosen with the upmost care and hold an enhanced DBS certificate. They will also be safeguard-trained so that families can rest assured that their child is in very good hands and will be guided, supported and taught to the highest possible standards.
