Foley, a graduate of Detroit Catholic Central (’73), Oakland University (’77), and Detroit College of Law (’80), began practicing law in 1981, focusing on Employment Litigation and Family Law. In 1994, Mr. Foley started the law firm of John R. Foley, P.C. to focus principally on the practice of Family Law, in an age of increasing divorce rates, increasing complexity, and increasing anxiety resulting from an overburdened and archaic system. Since that time, John R. Foley’s Family Law practice has grown hand in hand with the Courts, as they revise and hone the law, for proper and efficient administration of divorce and custody actions. Due to his wealth of experience, in addition to his representing clients in Family Law matters, Mr. Foley serves an arbitrator and mediator (a “third party neutral”), to aid divorcing couples, or unmarried parents, in resolving their disputes, so as to minimize invasive, uncomfortable, and costly Court appearances. In 2013, Patrick A. Foley joined the firm, with over three years of experience in a diverse financial litigation and transaction practice. Patrick’s addition to the firm has expanded the practice areas to include numerous relevant practices related to the growth and protection of assets and wealth, the collection of money on contract and other disputes, and the planning and administration of estates.
