About JOil Singapore
JOil Singapore is the world’s only commercial producer of Jatropha for the production of sustainable aviation fuel and other by-products that fuel the bioeconomy. JOil’s plantations in Ghana are a continuous, non-food source of Jatropha nuts for the production of biofuel, bioresin, biochar, bio-briquettes, bio compost etc. JOil holds 5 Patents with Gold Standard and ISCC certifications for its nucleus plantations. JOil has also established a tried and tested model of an outgrowers' program. With nucleus plantations and the outgrower program, JOil ensures a continuous, non-food source supply of Jatropha for the bio-economy. The company strives to mitigate carbon footprint and positively impact the livelihoods of communities through a scientific approach to establishing a Jatropha value chain – from cultivation to downstream applications. The company has established plantations in Ghana, Africa using regenerative agriculture on degraded land with pioneering high-yield Jatropha seeds. JOil addresses very relevant problems facing people and the planet through a pioneering Jatropha value chain and is present in regions with poor capacity and infrastructure. Climate change – Jatropha plantations remove carbon. Jatropha plants, stem and roots sequester carbon for 30 years. Land use & productivity – Jatropha grows on degraded lands and the cultivation of the plant is considered as reforestation. Jatropha is a non-edible feedstock for bio-substitutes and does not disrupt the food chain. Income generation – JOil provides a reliable source of income through employment opportunities for communities in the plantations. Safe and green products – The application of Jatropha for bio substitutes is eco-friendly and uses fewer raw materials in the by-products. Jatropha as feedstock for sustainable aviation fuel helps meet net zero emission targets.
