About Join For Water
Water is life. We need it for food production, to shower, to drink ... But due to climate change, rising consumption and pollution, access to clean water is threatened. And this leads to poverty, disease, conflicts ... Join For Water's mission? To improve the lives of as many people as possible, and this by ensuring that they can use clean water for their daily needs and activities. This includes drinking water, toilets, water for agriculture ... Because everyone has the right to water! 🗺️ We are active in 8 countries: Benin, Burundi, Mali, Uganda, DR Congo, Peru, Ecuador and Belgium. Our DNA in a nutshell: 💧 Change from within: focus on ‘together’ and inclusive We have teams in Belgium and in our partner countries. We work with local NGOs, governments, companies, schools ... Moreover, gender and diversity are key in our approach. 💧 Systemic approach: towards long-term solutions We follow a systemic approach, based on lessons learned and good practices, which leads to structural solutions. We also work on models that can be used at a local, national and international level. In this way, we contribute to knowledge building and sharing. 💧 More than direct water solutions in the Global South In addition to projects directly related to water (drinking water, food production, protection of water resources, etc.), we also focus on policy advocacy, raising awareness, knowledge transfer and participation, including in Belgium.
