About Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Republic of Korea

The Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) of the Republic of Korea is a group of Chiefs from each major branch of the armed services in the South Korean military. The JCS assists the Minister of National Defense on military command, commands and supervises each Service's combat operations forces upon receiving order from the Minister of National Defense, and executes joint and combined operations via commanding and supervising joint forces.
