About Jones Law Firm

A full-service law firm with attorneys licensed in three states, we are ready and willing to tackle your legal challenges. Jones Law Firm was originally founded in 1979 by Willis B. Jones and his son, Blair. Father and son made a dynamic team. Blair’s strength was authoring pointed and well-reasoned legal briefs, while Willis was a commanding and powerful courtroom advocate. Both men described their years in practice together as the highlight of their careers. Upon Willis’s retirement, Blair Jones went on to serve as the Stillwater County Attorney for several years. Although Stillwater County is rural, Blair successfully tried some of the most difficult criminal trials in the state at the time, including a double homicide. After his public service concluded, Blair re-opened the Jones Law Firm in Columbus, Montana. In 1999, the Jones Law Firm was shuttered when the Montana Legislature created a new Twenty-Second Judicial District, and Governor Marc Racicot appointed Blair to be the district’s new judge, where he has served ever since. Blair’s daughter, Emily Jones, re-founded Jones Law Firm in 2017 after nearly a decade of litigation experience. While still handling the same kinds of property and contract disputes in which the firm has always specialized, Jones Law Firm’s current attorneys are licensed in three states and have expanded the firm’s practice to include complex business and insurance litigation, election and campaign finance law, corporate counsel, employment and discrimination litigation, municipal liability, and product liability and warranty disputes.
