Josie's Closet, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization established to positively impact children in low-income or homeless situations experiencing clothing insecurity. Lack of appropriate clothing can lead to social stigma, bullying, and low self-esteem which can ultimately have negative impact on academic success and overall well-being. OUR STORY In 2018, Vanessa Davis, CEO/Founder, was spiritually led to reach out to a local school and asked if there were any students that had unmet basic needs. There were needs. Vanessa reached out to her friends and family, and this began the philanthropic journey. In February 2023, Josie’s Closet was established as a 501(c)(3) charity. The Board is a passionate group of women who deeply care about the well-being of our community and the future of its children. Although our children are no longer in the public school system, we are committed to ensuring that all students have the opportunity to succeed. While focusing our efforts on addressing clothing insecurity in Title 1 schools, we are helping to meet a critical need and make a positive impact in the lives of students who might otherwise be left behind. OUR VISION Our vision is for every Title One family in our communities to start each day confident and secure, wearing adequate clothing, and having their basic needs met. We work collaboratively with local and corporate sponsors to make a significant and sustainable impact on the lives of individuals and families in need. ** Join us in our mission to promote education, self-esteem, and well-being by supporting our programs or becoming a volunteer. **
