J.O. Virella & Associates is a medium size engineering firm. Since 1980, J. O. Virella & Associates has been a consultant to private and public clients to provide excellent experience in engineering, design, land planning and site construction management services throughout Puerto Rico. In the public sector our firm has served as design consultant for some municipalities, the Puerto Rico Highway and Transportation Authority, the Public Housing Authority of Puerto Rico and the Department of Transportation and Public Works, Metropistas, Authority for financing of the Infrastructure of PR (AFI) and Department of Education (DE). Also our design firm has extensive experience in the design and construction management of private projects, in which we highlight the design of shopping centers, housing developments, schools and private institutions. Over the years working as consultants, we have structured an excellent project team with engineers and consultants that have great experience and knowledge in the design, inspection, and supervision and construction management. Some additional sub-consultants have been incorporated over the years, which have enhanced our design team and increase our capabilities to provide the clients the best of services. Our engineering team specializes in the area of structural, highway, hydrology and hydraulic, geotechnical solutions, site planning and land surveying. The company has partnerships with several other branches of engineering, to provide the customer with a complete design of the project. These partnerships are served by sub-consultants, which serve the following services: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architecture, geotechnical engineering, hydrology and hydraulics, surveying, environmental aspects and transportation engineering.
