Juan Pistolas was born during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Confined at home, my wife and I often enjoyed sipping tequila by our apartment pool. However, glass bottles were forbidden in outdoor venues, so I wished for a way to enjoy our favorite drink without the hassle. On a vacation in Puerto Vallarta, inspired by the sunset and a quality margarita, I envisioned a solution: premium tequila in shatterproof shot vessels with resealable twist-off lids, sold in six packs. This would allow us to sip tequila conveniently at places where glass was not allowed, like pools, beaches, and sporting events. With my operations background, I set out to make this concept a reality. In Jalisco, the birthplace of agave, I found a distillery that uses 100% blue agave, matured for 7 to 9 years, ensuring top quality. While relaxing with a delicious Paloma, I discovered the name “Juan Pistolas” from a 1966 Mexican Western, which perfectly captured the spirit of my brand. Juan Pistolas is currently importing its six packs in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and in 2024, we’ll introduce 750 ml bottles of our premium Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo tequilas.
