About Jubilee Family Development Center
Our Mission: To provide high quality academic, athletic and occupational programs that foster personal, social and spiritual growth and the stability of families. Jubilee was founded in 1999 in response to the Lynchburg's overwhelming need for a program that would help at-risk youth and offer them programs and services to help develop their academic and social skills. Every day Jubilee programs and volunteers are leading young people into futures filled with hopes and goals. They are loved, tutored, mentored, challenged, and motivated as they strive to overcome many obstacles. Jubilee is open year-round and offers many after-school academic, tutoring, and mentoring programs. Jubilee Family Development Center changes lives. Each day, Jubilee’s staff and volunteers serve as teachers and role models to hundreds of children and young adults who come to Jubilee for tutoring, mentoring, and social support services. Jubilee’s dedication to their success, and the success that these children in turn demonstrate through their academic and personal growth, proves that the knowledge that someone believes in you can generate tremendous pride in oneself.
