The Judicial Institute for Africa (JIFA) was established in December 2015 by a group of eminent jurists and human rights practitioners from Africa. The aim of the project is to aid and meet the need for a regional training facility for judges. JIFA is a project of the Democratic Governance and Rights Unit, offering university-certified courses for judges in the Law Faculty at University of Cape Town.
