About julesneefjes

Jules Neefjes (Born 1989 in Amersfoort) is a Dutch designer with a background in landscape architecture. After finishing his masters in 2015 at Wageningen University, he has practiced the art of landscape architecture in several different ways. Aside from creating landscape experiences he has always had the urge to express his creativity in a way that, not online in the outside world, but also in our homes, we will be able to wonder about the world that surrounds us. Yet at an early age he was already inspired by the designs of Le Corbusier and Alessandro Mendini, which are close to the essence of what they are meant for, but also leaves us to wonder. Besides, designers such as Gerrit Rietveld and Ettore Sottsass are also a great inspiration for him. His designs are all on the brink of modernism and postmodernism with a little hint of several different art movements. His credo is therefore: “Good design is functional, with a twist”; you are able to understand the designs, but still they leave you wondering or make you think. This is exactly the reason why he is exploring the point where modernism stops and postmodernism starts.
