About Junior Achievement of Orange County & Inland Empire
Junior Achievement's [JA] mission is to mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. Through a community-based network of volunteers, educators, nonprofit collaborators, and businesses, JA provides grade specific programs for students, K-12, built around three core pillars: financial literacy, work-readiness, and entrepreneurship. Each program includes a series of volunteer-delivered lessons, each with a reinforcing activity that requires students to put their new knowledge to work immediately. Through these programs, JA helps prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate income and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Embodying the heart of Junior Achievement, community volunteers are trained to deliver JA programs, sharing their personal experience with students, bringing real-world relevance to the material. Join us in our mission to empower young people to own their economic success. Maybe you too will receive a note like this: “Thank you for coming to our class to teach us about our community. I learned about unit production and assembly production. We learned about money. We learned how taxes pay people that help us like police, teachers, mayors, soldiers, and librarians. You taught us very well.” Anneliese, 2nd grade
