About Kalkaska Area Interfaith Resources
Kalkaska Area Interfaith Resources (KAIR) is a non-profit 501c3 established in 1995 by local churches with a vision of offering financial assistance through a central hub to families in need residing in Kalkaska County. KAIR has continued to strive to provide more services as the need throughout the community grows. Currently, KAIR provides the following services of heat and utility assistance, free food pantry assistance, vouchering of household items as well as clothing assistance, no cost meals to families at our community meal site, and is a source for referrals to other available resources. In May of 2023 KAIR expanded food pantry services to include Antrim County residents. Monthly KAIR is supported by area churches and its resale store. Donations, grants, and sales generated aid KAIR in providing food and utility assistance to families in need. In addition, individuals throughout the year host various food drives helping to provide necessary foods to struggling families. KAIR’s largest fundraising event, Festival of Trees is held annually in November aiding KAIR in providing services throughout the year. KAIR is able to continue providing services to families in need due to the support of people in the community who band together giving of themselves volunteering to help others in need. Monthly, KAIR serves 1,200 to 1,400 people in need through our food pantry and meal site services distributing on average 25,000 pounds of food in our fight against food insecurity.
