About Kalo Companies

Kalo Companies was founded in 2009 by its owners, Angelo and Kimberly Crowell. Since opening their first location in 2010, Team Kalo has grown its ownership of Jersey Mike’s Subs restaurant franchises to 40 stores located across Florida, Georgia and Alabama, with up to 21 more stores under current development or under an acquisition agreement and expected to finalize in 2022. Its goal is to reach 100+ units. Angelo and Kimberly were awarded 2016 Economic Development Champions of the Year for their entrepreneurial impact on the Tallahassee economy and also recognized by Jersey Mike’s as the organization’s Rookie Franchisees of the Year in 2011. Angelo was recently recognized as a Most Valuable Performer and received the Influencer Award for Former Pro-Athlete at the Multi-Unit Franchising Conference in Las Vegas. In 2018 they were recognized for their Regional Operational Excellence at the Jersey Mike’s Subs Franchise National Conference and also received the Big Bend Region’s Small Business of the Year award as part National Small Business Week. Additionally, they were elected by their fellow franchisees to serve on the National Advisory Council for Jersey Mike’s and Kimberly was recently appointed to the International Franchise Association Board of Directors. In addition to franchising, Angelo and Kimberly work together on a variety of other projects, including serving together as managing partners of a private equity firm that targets real estate and hospitality ventures. Team Kalo, which employs over 425 people, owns and operates each of its locations and through its management company, Kalo Restaurant Group, LLC (KRG), provides the management, operational and administrative support for all of its locations. Team Kalo is building on its past success and expanding its ownership footprint throughout the southeast.
