About Kamba African Rainforest Experiences
Kamba (formerly Congo Conservation Co.) offers the only opportunity to immerse yourself in one of Africa’s most spellbinding ecosystems. Encounter gorillas, forest elephants, African gray parrots, and other rarely sighted wildlife. Fill your lungs with the immaculate air of a forest barely touched by humanity. And experience the paradigm shift that comes from visiting one of the remotest, most remarkable places on Earth. KAMBA’S CAMPS Kamba has three very special Camps in Odzala-Kokoua National Park, reflecting the different ecosystems in which they are found. This is your chance to walk the path less taken, to marvel at unique and sometimes bizarre creatures, and to experience the undiscovered beauty and majesty of Congo. LANGO CAMP A beautiful 6-roomed Camp nestled in dense gallery forest overlooking the productive Lango Bai and with access to the Lekoli River and the surrounding savannah. NGAGA CAMP A delightful Camp consisting of 6 rooms that rests in a glade within primary forest above the Ngaga Stream and within the home ranges of several groups of western lowland gorillas, two of which are habituated groups. MBOKO CAMP Our largest Camp, Mboko’s 12 guest rooms extend along the banks of a free-flowing tributary of the Lekoli River. ODZALA NATIONAL PARK Odzala is renowned as one of the last refuges of the African forest elephant. Forest elephants are threatened by poaching for ivory, and by habitat loss due to deforestation. PRIMATES AND GORILLAS Odzala is also famed for its primate populations; in particular, the critically endangered western lowland gorilla: a very significant population of these great apes survives in unspoiled natural habitat, alongside ten other diurnal primate species. Odzala also boasts iconic West Central African fauna such as forest buffalo and bongo as well as dozens of little-known mammal species, from water chevrotain to palm civets.
