About Kandake Living Nonprofit

Kandake Living was born from personal experience and a vision. Our founder/CEO Candace Reece found out that the name Candace comes from great importance and royalty in our history. Candace derives from the name Kandake which means Queen. Kandake were extremely powerful Queens from the Kush Kingdom, which is now the south Sudan region of Africa. Kandake were "Great Women" who either ruled the kingdom or choose the King that was going to rule. They were women that took great care of their people and themselves, no matter the cost. Candace envisions the same for Kandake living. Great women who take care of their own in a secured gated, clean energy living community for Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner violence survivors and or homeless victims and their children. A place where moms and their kids feel safe! They have the opportunity to rebuild and transform their lives, while we help mom remember, she has a crown. Candace realized the struggles she faced during her own experience and the work it took to regain her crown, and had the vision to help others do the same.
