KANDI Intrnational Inc Was founded in 1982 by singer/songwriter John Gee in Oakland Ca with the release of his successful 45’ rpm record “So Good to Me”/”Just Get On”, now a collectable still sold worldwide. Incorporated in 1989. The goal was to create an independently owned and operated, multi-media entertainment company with headquarters in Milwaukee WI citing the need for such a company that will create equity marketing and promoting and the preservation of Milwaukee’s diverse Afro-Latin-Caribbean Soul-R&B-Gospel and Jazz musical tradition. The goal was not just a typical recording company, but a broad based media and entertainment institution that reflected current and post musical trends as the general market, with a special emphasis on woman in Hip Hop, Soul, Latin and popular music. Kandi Music has since released 5 CD’s, music for national and local film and theater productions, Songwriters and artists development workshops (ATKAQ Music publishing) Licensing deals with Warner Bros/HBO. Kandi’s mission is thru music, to promote an image, a song, and support and encourage Arts acculturation creating a synergy between popular music, dance and theater presentations. The company is committed to its artists and there musical an artistic development as artists are to there inspiration. We create a home for the creative and motivated artist to achieve there musical dreams, musical technological innovators and creators through partnerships with private and institutional investors, city, and state government. Kandi’s mission is to retain and create jobs through artistic entrepreneurship broaden the service network by creating an atmosphere that encourages economic development thru creative expression.
