Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust (KORT) is a humanitarian organisation committed to providing comprehensive care and support to orphaned children in Kashmir and Pakistan. Founded in response to the 2005 earthquake, KORT aims to offer a lifeline to those left vulnerable by the tragedy. Our mission is to ensure every orphaned child receives the love, education, and opportunities they deserve to lead fulfilling lives. KORT's key programmes include: → Education: Delivering high-quality education to orphans and building schools in underserved areas to empower children from marginalised communities to overcome poverty. → Residential Care: Creating a safe environment where orphaned children can thrive. We implement sustainable projects in orphanages for long-term support and provide homes for families affected by natural disasters. → Health and Well-being: Offering access to healthcare, nutrition, and mental health support. We distribute food to vulnerable families, improve water access through filtration plants, and promote hygiene to prevent diseases. → Widow Empowerment: Assisting widows with resources and opportunities to enhance their livelihoods and achieve financial independence. → Community Outreach: Raising awareness about the challenges faced by orphaned children and mobilising support for our initiatives. Since its inception, KORT has made significant progress, improving the lives of thousands of orphaned children and widows. We have built a state-of-the-art educational and residential complex, offering a home and future for hundreds.
