About Kastella
- PHILOSOPHY Kastella strives to produce custom furniture of exceptional quality and timeless character. Of great importance is our contribution to sustainable, local manufacturing. We believe the first and most crucial step to achieving this is to build furniture which will stand the test of time, physically and aesthetically. We use certified woods, hand rubbed oil finishes and low VOC lacquers to minimize the impact of our production on the environment. Production off-cuts are either recycled by a local energy provider or reused to create unique pieces, further reducing our waste contribution. We believe in what we build. - PRODUCTION Kastella strongly believes in local production. Our collection is exclusively manufactured at our Montreal facility and is produced by experienced craftspeople using the highest quality materials and hardware. With solid hardwoods such as walnut, cherry and white oak, as well as exceptional construction practices, we strive to build long-lasting, contemporary furniture. We employ local trades people in metalwork, upholstery and finishing, further supporting local economies and sustainable business practices. Given the size and nature of our facility, we can offer our clients custom options on our furniture.
